Know-how is lost by experienced employees leaving the company
Industrial Tube enables expertise to be shared within the company via videos – quickly, easily and across facilities and plants. In the app, individual work steps of an activity are filmed with simple step-by-step instructions. These instructions help to ensure the quality of the how-to-videos and pay attention to safety instructions and data protection guidelines. No previous knowledge is needed. The smart software finishes the clip by merging the sequences, adding subtitles in different languages and tagging the relevant category. A content management system offers further enrichment options and a customizes approval process. The videos can be found on the customer-specific secured Industrial Tube web portal and shared with colleagues.

Industrial Tube is a great introduction to digital knowledge management and digital knowledge documentation with videos. With Industrial Tube videos we are capturing our highly specialized skills in steel processing using a sustainable digital method. In a joint pilot project we are now taking the first steps towards documenting and spreading our knowledge with the help of videos (throughout the thyssenkrupp Steel Europe group).

How it works
To start a new video recording, the user opens the app and simply chooses a template that leads him through the different guiding steps. The templates differentiate between filming work processes and complex activities, short explanations and trainings or simple instructions. After first safety instructions, the user starts the recording, then reviews and approves the different sequences, manages the order of the sequences and finally finishes the video by adding a title, a playlist and uploading the video to the company web portal.
